- Engineering Degree in relevant disciplines from a recognized university.

Selection Process
CBT 1 (First Stage Computer Based Test)
The First Stage CBT is a screening examination conducted online. It tests candidates on Mathematics, Mental Ability & Reasoning, General Science, and General Awareness. Marks scored in CBT 1 are used for shortlisting candidates for the Second Stage CBT.
CBT 2 (Second Stage Computer Based Test)
The Second Stage CBT consists of Part A and Part B. Part A evaluates Mathematics, General Intelligence & Reasoning, Basic Science & Engineering, and Current Affairs. Part B is a qualifying trade-specific test based on the candidate's ITI or engineering discipline.
Computer Based Aptitude Test (CBAT)
Candidates shortlisted after CBT 2 for Assistant Loco Pilot posts must appear for the Computer Based Aptitude Test. The CBAT assesses aptitude, concentration, reaction time, and decision-making abilities required for railway operations.
Document Verification (DV)
Candidates who qualify the preceding stages are called for Document Verification. Educational certificates, identity proof, category certificates, and other supporting documents are verified to confirm eligibility.
Medical Examination
Candidates must undergo a medical fitness examination conducted by the Railway Administration. The medical standards include vision requirements, color vision, physical fitness, and other criteria prescribed for Assistant Loco Pilot posts.

Questions for CBTs will be available in English, Hindi and 13 regional Indian languages (viz., Assamese, Bengali, Gujarati, Kannada, Konkani, Malayalam, Manipuri, Marathi, Odia, Punjabi, Tamil, Telugu and Urdu). Accordingly, candidates must choose their medium of examination from any one amongst those listed in the ONLINE application form. CBTs questions will be displayed in the language opted and in English. No change shall be allowed in the language option once selected at the application stage.
Yes, there shall be negative marking @1/3rd mark for each wrong answer in CBT.
