Selection Process

Computer Based Test (CBT)

Candidates appear for a computer-based examination consisting of objective-type questions on Mathematics, General Intelligence & Reasoning, General Science, and General Awareness & Current Affairs. Candidates qualifying the CBT are shortlisted for the Physical Efficiency Test (PET).

Physical Efficiency Test (PET)

Candidates who qualify the CBT must pass the Physical Efficiency Test to demonstrate the required physical fitness. PET is qualifying in nature and no marks are awarded.

Document Verification

Shortlisted candidates must produce original educational certificates, identity proof, category certificates (if applicable), and other required documents for verification.

Medical Examination

Candidates who clear document verification undergo a medical fitness examination as per the medical standards prescribed by the Railway Recruitment Board for the allotted post.

Final Merit List

The final merit list is prepared based on CBT performance, successful qualification in PET, document verification, and medical fitness. Selected candidates are appointed to Level 1 posts in Indian Railways.
