- Must have passed Tamil Language as a subject at the SSLC level.
- Must possess a Two-Year Multipurpose Health Worker (Male) / Health Inspector / Sanitary Inspector Course Certificate granted by the Director of Public Health and Preventive Medicine.

- Candidates with a one-year Multipurpose Health Worker (Male) training course certificate obtained before the two-year course was introduced are also eligible.

Selection Process for TN MRB Health Inspector
The selection for the Health Inspector post will be made in the following stages:
