Eligibility Criteria
Paper-specific teacher-education qualifications apply. Depending on the paper, candidates require the prescribed D.El.Ed., B.Ed., Special Education or equivalent qualification recognised by NCTE/RCI. Eligible final-semester teacher-education candidates may also appear subject to the applicable rules.
Selection Process
AP TET is a qualifying eligibility examination, not a direct recruitment process. Candidates who meet the prescribed qualifying standard receive an AP TET certificate/marks memo. Appointment to teaching posts is governed separately by the applicable recruitment rules. Where prescribed for Andhra Pradesh teacher recruitment, the TET score may be combined with the Teacher Recruitment Test score.
Exam Pattern
AP TET has four paper variants: Paper 1A and 1B for Classes I–V, and Paper 2A and 2B for Classes VI–VIII. Papers 1B and 2B are the Special Education routes. Each applicable paper contains 150 questions for 150 marks. Candidates take the paper appropriate to their teaching level and qualifications.
