CIL Recruitment of Management Trainee in E-2 Grade Frequently Asked Questions (FAQs)
1. What qualifications are required to apply?
Ans: Candidates need a full-time B.E./B.Tech/B.Sc (Engg.) or MCA from a recognized university. General, OBC, and EWS candidates require a minimum of 60%, while SC/ST/PwBD candidates have a relaxation to 55%.
2. Can final-year students apply?
Ans: es, final-year students who appeared for GATE 2024 and are listed as qualified can apply. However, they must provide their final results during document verification.
3. What is the age limit for applicants?
Ans: The upper age limit is 30 years as of 30th September 2024. Relaxations apply for OBC (3 years), SC/ST (5 years), and PwBD (up to 15 years).
4. How are candidates selected?
Ans: Candidates are shortlisted based on their GATE 2024 scores. If there’s a tie, those with higher qualification marks or older age are prioritized.
5. Is there a service bond requirement?
Ans: Yes, selected candidates must sign a service bond of ₹3 Lakhs, requiring them to serve the company for at least 60 months.
6. What is the starting salary?
Ans: elected candidates start as Management Trainees in the E-2 Grade with a basic pay of ₹50,000 per month, within a pay range of ₹50,000 – ₹1,60,000. After completing the 1-year training and passing an assessment, they are promoted to E-3 Grade, with a new basic pay of ₹60,000 per month (in the scale of ₹60,000 – ₹1,80,000) and an additional 1-year probation period.
Alongside the basic pay, trainees receive Dearness Allowance (DA), House Rent Allowance (HRA), cafeteria-style allowances, and Performance-Related Pay (PRP). Additional benefits include medical facilities, leave, Gratuity, CMPF, CMPS, and a pension under CIL’s Executive Defined Contribution Pension Scheme. Final remuneration can vary based on the location of posting, company performance, and individual performance ratings.
7. Where will candidates be posted?
Ans: Selected candidates may be posted anywhere in India, including Coal India’s subsidiary companies and coalfield areas. Preferences can be indicated, but final posting is decided by CIL.
8. What is the application fee?
Ans: The application fee is ₹1,180 for General, OBC, and EWS candidates. SC/ST, PwBD, and CIL employees are exempt.
