The Staff Selection Commission (SSC) has released the official SSC GD Syllabus 2026 alongside the recruitment notification. Candidates preparing for the Constable (GD) in CAPFs, SSF, and Rifleman (GD) in Assam Rifles must thoroughly understand the exam pattern and subject-wise topics to score high marks.

The Computer-Based Test (CBT) consists of four sections: General Intelligence & Reasoning, General Knowledge, Elementary Mathematics, and English/Hindi Language. Below is the complete, official syllabus breakdown, including the expected topic-wise weightage to help you prioritize your preparation.

The Computer-Based Examination will consist of one Objective Type Paper containing 80 questions carrying 2 marks each.

Crucial Exam Rules:

  • Exam Mode: Computer-Based Test (CBT) with Objective Multiple-Choice Questions.
  • Languages: The exam will be conducted in English, Hindi, and 13 Regional languages (including Assamese, Bengali, Gujarati, Kannada, Malayalam, Marathi, Odia, Punjabi, Tamil, Telugu, and Urdu).
  • Negative Marking: There will be a strict negative marking of 0.25 marks for each incorrect answer.
  • Difficulty Level: All questions will be of Matriculation (10th Class) level.

Part A: General Intelligence & Reasoning

Analytical aptitude and the ability to observe and distinguish patterns will be tested through questions principally of the non-verbal type.

  • Spatial Visualization and Spatial Orientation
  • Visual Memory and Discrimination
  • Observation and Relationship Concepts (Blood Relations)
  • Arithmetical Reasoning and Figural Classification
  • Arithmetic Number Series and Non-Verbal Series

Part B: General Knowledge and General Awareness

Questions in this component aim to test the candidate's general awareness of the environment around them and current events. These questions do not require a special study of any discipline.

  • India and its neighboring countries

Part C: Elementary Mathematics

This section focuses on problems relating to fundamental arithmetical operations and basic numerical skills.
