Educational Qualification Explained

Joint SI and Station Officer

You need a bachelor’s degree from a university recognised by the University Grants Commission or the Government. Check the live notification for the required pattern of study and the date by which the degree must be completed.

SI Technical

You must hold at least a second-class Diploma in Electronics and Communication Engineering awarded by the State Board of Technical Education, Tamil Nadu, or an AICTE-recognised B.E./B.Tech degree in Electronics and Communication Engineering.

SI Finger Print

You need a bachelor’s degree in Science from a UGC-recognised university or institution, obtained in the 10+2+3 pattern.

Police Constable, Jail Warder and Fireman

A pass in 10th Standard is the basic educational requirement shown on the official eligibility page. Refer to the current common recruitment notification for Tamil-language study and other certificate conditions.

Community-wise Age Relaxation

BC, BC (Muslim) and MBC/DNC

SC, SC(A) and ST

The reduced SC, SC(A) and ST height standards shown above are part of the general TNUSRB eligibility table. Chest and other physical-test rules must still be checked in the recruitment notification.

Destitute Widow Age Relaxation

The official general eligibility page shows an upper age limit of 37 years for joint SI and Station Officer, SI Technical, SI Finger Print, and the common recruitment for Grade II Police Constable, Grade II Jail Warder and Fireman. Eligibility under this category requires the prescribed certificate and must be confirmed from the current notification.

Ex-servicemen Age and Physical Relaxation

Ex-servicemen and serving personnel due to retire within one year have an upper age limit of 47 years in the general table. Physical-standard exemption is not the same for every recruitment.
