Administrative Officer - Generalists
  • Graduate or postgraduate degree in any discipline from a recognised university, with at least 60% marks; 55% for SC, ST and PwBD candidates.
  • The qualifying result must have been declared on or before 30 June 2026. Working knowledge of computers is mandatory.
Administrative Officer - Hindi Officers
  • Master’s degree from a recognised university in Hindi with English, in English with Hindi, or in another subject with the prescribed Hindi-English medium/subject combination.
  • Minimum 60% marks; 55% for SC, ST and PwBD candidates. The result must have been declared by 30 June 2026.

Selection Process

1. Tier I on 22 October, Tier II on 30 November, then interview; dates are tentative.

Tier I Prelims β†’ Tier II Objective + Descriptive Tests β†’ Interview β†’ Final Merit

Tier I - Preliminary Examination

A 60-minute online objective test for 100 marks covering English Language, Reasoning and Quantitative Aptitude. Candidates must clear both sectional and overall qualifying scores. Tier I marks do not count toward final merit.

Tier II - Main Examination and Descriptive Test

Generalists take a 250-mark objective test followed by a 30-mark English descriptive test. Hindi Officers take a 200-mark objective test followed by a 50-mark bilingual descriptive test. Descriptive scripts are evaluated according to the qualifying rules in the notification.

Interview and Final Merit

UIIC may call candidates up to three times the vacancies for interview. The final weightage is 75% for the applicable Tier II examination component and 25% for interview. Tier I is not counted in final merit. For Generalists, descriptive-test marks are also excluded from final merit; for Hindi Officers, Tier II includes both objective and descriptive tests for merit.

Stage 2: Tier II - Generalists

  • Objective: 150 questions, 200 marks, 120 minutes
  • Descriptive bilingual test: 50 marks, 60 minutes

Tier I Preliminary Pattern

  • English Language: 30 questions, 30 marks, 20 minutes.
