Paper 1B is the Special Education AP TET route for Classes I-V. Its defining component is Child Development and Pedagogy with ICT specifically framed for Special Education.

Paper 1A vs Paper 1B

Both papers retain Language I, English, Mathematics and Environmental Studies. Paper 1B additionally requires focused preparation in CwSN assessment, curriculum adaptation, IEP, disability legislation and inclusive teaching practices.

Child Development and Pedagogy - Special Education

  • Nature and principles of child development, approaches to growth, learning theories, methods of child study and individual differences.
  • Characteristics and educational needs of children with special needs, assessment approaches and analysis of student-assessment data.
  • Curriculum development and adaptation, Individualised Education Plan, Individualized Family Services Plan, teaching strategies and evaluation.
  • Constitutional provisions, education policies and the RCI, PWD, National Trust, RTE and RPwD Acts.
  • Inclusive-education programmes, international frameworks, ICT fundamentals and assistive or inclusive learning applications.

Language I - 30 marks

Candidates prepare Telugu, Urdu, Hindi, Kannada, Tamil or Odia as applicable. The official PDF supplies separate content and methodology for each language.

English - 30 marks

English covers vocabulary, grammar, writing conventions, discourses, comprehension, dictionary skills and English teaching methodology.

Mathematics - 30 marks

Mathematics includes Numbers, Arithmetic, Geometry, Data Handling, Algebra and Mensuration. The official split is 24 marks of content and 6 marks of methodology.

Environmental Studies - 30 marks
