How to choose the AP TET Paper 2A subject section

The first 90 marks cover Child Development and Pedagogy, Language I and English. The remaining 60 marks depend on the candidate's applicable teaching subject and qualifications.

Paper 2A vs Paper 2B

Paper 2A is the regular Classes VI-VIII route and uses a 60-mark regular subject option. Paper 2B replaces that option with Category of Disability Specialisation and Pedagogy.

Paper 2A 60-mark subject options

  • Mathematics and Science: Mathematics 20, Physical Science 20 and Biological Science 20 marks.
  • Social Studies: 60 marks.
  • Language I specialisation: 60 marks in Telugu, English, Urdu, Hindi, Kannada, Tamil, Odia or Sanskrit.

Subject-wise syllabus

Child Development and Pedagogy with ICT - 30 marks

  • Growth, development and maturation through infancy, childhood and adolescence.
  • Piaget, Erikson, Kohlberg, Freud and Goleman; socialisation, adolescence and individual differences.
  • Learning, motivation, behaviourist, cognitive and humanistic perspectives, classroom organisation, pedagogy and assessment.
  • ICT in education, computer applications, e-learning, OER, MOOCs and DIKSHA.

Language I - 30 marks

Language I may be Telugu, Urdu, Hindi, Kannada, Tamil, Odia or Sanskrit. Use the applicable language section in the official PDF.

English - 30 marks

English includes vocabulary, grammar, language functions, writing conventions, discourses, dictionary skills and comprehension.

Mathematics and Science option - 60 marks

Mathematics - 20 marks

  • Number systems, real and rational numbers, sets, arithmetic, geometry, algebra and mensuration.

Physical Science - 20 marks

  • Matter, measurement, mechanics, heat, sound, light, electricity, magnetism, chemical concepts and methodology.

Biological Science - 20 marks

  • Cells, microorganisms, nutrition, respiration, circulation, excretion, coordination, reproduction, heredity, ecosystems, biodiversity and pollution.

Social Studies option - 60 marks

  • Earth, maps, forests and resources, Indian geography, climate, production, markets, livelihoods, agriculture, industries, population, public facilities, politics and history.

Language I specialisation - 60 marks
