Age and Educational Eligibility
Age Limit
Age is calculated on 01.07.2026. The notice gives a post-by-post and category-wise table across pp.5–8. For “Others,” common minimum ages are 18, while VAO and forest posts start at 21 and Executive Officer Grade IV at 25; upper limits vary by post (for example, VAO 30, Co-operative Junior Inspector 30, and forest posts 30). Several posts have no maximum age under the stated conditions. Reserved communities have different limits and concessions: standard posts generally show 32 years for BC(OBCM)/BCM/MBC-DC and 35 for SC/SC(A)/ST; special posts and concessions have separate figures. Candidates with higher-than-minimum general education may have no maximum age where the notice’s note permits it. Selection Process
TNPSC will conduct a single-stage written examination. Shortlisted applicants go through onscreen certificate verification, followed by physical certificate verification/counselling as applicable and according to reservation and rank. Forest Watcher and Forest Guard candidates who proceed must also meet the specified physical standards and complete the endurance walk: 25 km for male candidates and 16 km for female/third-gender candidates within four hours. Forest Guard applicants must also pass experience-certificate scrutiny.
